Remote/GPS Java app out yet?

I heard there was this Java app for some phones (not series40 yet) where you can change tv/vcr etc channels using the infrared bit of your phone. Also, it was rumoured that another app could turn your phone into a gps receiver.

Have these apps come out yet for a phone like 7250?
If so, where do i find them??

to my knowledge theres nothing in the phone that could tell it self where it is for a GPS, and the IR port only has range of about 3 feet

From what I have read on this and other forums its only available on the Nokia 3650 and 7650
