    3650 MMC Problem!!!

    Please help me!!!

I tried to use connect my phone to the PC using IR but it won't connect so i turned it off. Unfortuneately when i turned it on it wont boot up properly!!!

I tried to reset it several times by removing the battery (cause it wont turn off using the power button) but still wont boot up.

I removed the MMC and it booted up ok!

Have anyone experienced this? Is my MMC already useless?

Or maybe it's one of the apps installed on my phone:

    MP3go
    Doris Browser
    Stacker
    One2Go
    IrRemote
    SeleQ
    HandyFile
    Worldmate
    WirelessIRC

I can use the phone but without the MMC.
    Please help!!!

    Thanks!!!

I just had a similar problem, if its a new phone like mine, when booting, hold down the pencil key, and it will boot up, then go in the extras menu choose memory and format your memcard, u will loose everything but I dont think theres another soloution to the problem

try reformatting your mmc using another device (ie. camera, mmc reader, etc.). More often than not, that solves the problem with the mmc.

Hi dude, i also had the same problem with mine...

The phone wouldn't boot whenever i put my MMC in it, i took it to a nokia service center and they told me that the MMC got busted and was already useless..

I think you should first try to re-format the MMC and if it doesn't work, sad to say it must already be replaced or try visiting service center too...

Thank you guys for the replies!!!

I finally got it to work.

I just reinserted the MMC and turned the phone on. i just waited and it booted up (w/ errors). Pressed OK and I just waited when i finally got access to the MENU. Went to -->Extras-->Memory and then formatted the MMC. It now works!

I'm thankful that the MMC was still useable and save some bucks!

    Regards!

you have just bought a mmc card that cannot be supported by the unit..try buying mmc cards that are know to workwith a 3650. like twinmos mmc card it works with 3650.

    Incompatible MMCs

Although MMCs are now commonly produced in various locations (mostly in TW because of the lower cost and abundance of semiconductor plants), not all of these may be compatible with your Nokia phones.

For one, there is a certain voltage and access speed that needs to be considered which are part of the specifications of the MMCs and the compatibility specs of the current 2 Nokia models that accept them (Nokia 92xx and 3650).

Although speed can be foregone, the voltage is of importance. This spells if the unit will accept the MMC which you have provided.

I've tested several brands available and if you want to max-out your storage to 128MB the brand that works as per my testing is NCP by Hexon. The TwinMos brand will only net you 64MB and refuse working as well as corrupt itself on 128MB.

Orginally purchased for my 9210 and 9210i and had fears it wouldn't work on the 3650, but after getting a new unit last week my test shows the NCP works!

Average street price was $65, alot lower than the SanDisk which cost twice as much.

    Re: Incompatible MMCs

Hi guys... thanks GOD I found this site.
I have a problem that nobody can solve... let's see if someone can have an answer for this:
I bought a 128MB MMC card. I noticed that it could store too low data on it.
When I connected it to the computer using a MMC reader, it shows only 8MB!!
I have formated in computer, in phone, everything else you can imagine but I can't make it go to 128MB.
The strange thing is that it really works well... if you don't consider the wrong size. It stores and save data with no problem.
I don't know anything more to do.

PLEASE SOME GOOD SOUL HELP ME!
