is it locked to t-mobile or virgin?
u.k virgin 3510i phones have a special network code. if your phone is locked to virgin - this will be your unlock code:

#pw+126824150460623+7#

try once, and post results.

edit:
the codes given to you before are for t-mobile. my code is for virgin.
if none of them work, assuming you removed the simcard and followed the instructions, i would say that the phone is not locked at all. in that case just try to use another provider simcard.
