Problem entering unlock code on Nokia 3650

Hi,

I have a Nokia 3650 locked to Vodafone Ireland (used to be Eircell, operator code 27201). My IMEI is 351467107196400 and I've generated unlock codes to unlock the phone.

The problem is, I can't enter the codes. Here is what I am doing:

1. Power off phone
2. Remove SIM card
3. Power on phone, phone says "Insert SIM card"
4. Hit # key, "Insert SIM card" message disappears and # appears on screen.
5. Hit * key 3 times _very_ quickly (definitely under 1 sec), I just get *** on screen, not a "p" as I am supposed to. Same thing happens when I hit * twice or four times, I just get ** or ****, instead of "+" or "w". I've tried hitting the * key as fast as possible and then waiting for up to 2 minutes - no good, I just still see ***.
6. I tried entering one of the codes anyway, even though I wasn't getting "p", "w" or "+" on the screen. No good - nothing whatsoever happened, no message, nothing.

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks for the reply. I know my code already. My problem is, when I press the * key 3 times, I don't get "p", I just get "***". Has anyone else had this problem on a Nokia 3650?

try putting the code with the sim inside

dont worry it wont damage your fone
you only have 5 trys

IMEI NO:449686507317890 and I have one more chance to put the unlockin code in it. SO please help me ?
