Killing an 8310

My 8310 has got that common software error like most others, I have taken it to be repaired once before and they updated my software to v05.06, the same problem has come back, it powers out when i go to send a text message, it also looses its signal a lot. My insurance covers it to be repaired but I would rather kill this phone and claim another one because it has been fixed before but remained faulty...............so has anyone got some software I use to kill my phone and has anyone else suffered from the same symptoms????

I would'nt kill the phone mate I would do one of 2 things.Send it of to nokia as I work for orange and I know that a fix has just been applied for this.If you send it to nokia they will flash it with the new software our send it back to what ever network you are on.The new software version is V05.54 this is the only one that has no faults as yet I have had my replacment for 3 weeks and have had no problims.

our insurance here doesn't cover cellpones! you very lucky!

It is a special insurance from a phone shop, i paid £100 for it and it covers my phone from accidental damage, theft, loss and general faults for 4 years

software isnt that the one that relocks its self and has 5 locking points not 4 and the only thing that can unlock them at the mo is good old relyable b-phreaks

try this mate use the nokia tool by rolis read the flash files and then write the flash files back to the phone,half way thought cancel this and this should then make 8310 come up with contact services when it is turned on.I haven't tryed this but it should work.TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK MATE.hope this diz the job for you.

when you unlock a 8310 with v5.54 it DIS'nt relock.I have the nokia dct-4 box and have had no-problims at all unlocking these and they have all worked fine and never relocked on me.

veron your phone can be fixed.. its just a normal problem on all dct4 phone, like a computer needs to be re-format and change with a newer software all the time i can fix it
