I just bought a generic DKU-5 data cable with CD from E-Bay and cannot get my PC to recognise my Nokia 6610i phone (running AMD system on Win98SE). My USB port runs for other devices so that is not the problem. I have tried Nokia PC Suite and Oxygen II but neither recognise the phone. I tried all of the troubleshooting options on Oxygen including disabling PnP on Bios and disabling virus checker, and setting up virtual com port 3. as well as downloading other cable drivers from the web and a microsoft patch for USB problems. I also tried to set up DKU-5 on "add new hardware wizard" (control panel) but got the response "Setup cannot load the installer (umpci.dll) for the UMP hardware being installed" - this at least suggests my PC recognises the cable.
Can anybody help??? Thanks
