Contact Service

My nokia 8310 says Contact service when i turn it on, doesn't do anything but that. i have a F/Mbus cable wich i connect to my computer, and i can get my phone into Test Mode but i cannot unlock or reset it? have you got any ideas of how to reset it ? or etc. Flash it to 8310 from new again?

THe startard question that I must ask have you drop your phone or have come in connect with any water.......
The anwser must be yes............. of course
I belive it is hardware problem try change the IC more like you will have to change 2 IC>>>>>>>Don't Worry it is a small problem....

the answer to the question you asked ( if it had been in contact with water ) would be NO, and i found out that i both resetted it and unlocked it except for 1 code, a sim code from an old sim card!

if contact service is caused by bad sp data use techtron's dct4 tools. u can find this software on this forum, just try a search..
u have instrunctions inside software how to repair contact service.
did a lot with this solution.

if is caused by mcu,ppm fault u need to flash it again - u need dongle dct4 flasher for this...

if is hardware...

but where do i find a flashing program that works with windows Xp and my nokia 8310, i checked my cable and it says Fbus.. but i bought it as f/m bus.. ? i have the flashfile for the phone, just dunno how to flash it TO the phone =) looking forward for your reply!

flasher works on lpt not com port.
i need special dongle and cables for flashing...

try first the solutions i have gave u.

if the phones does not work...go to someone who has already a flasher...i believe that an 8310 does not woth a 150$ dct4 flasher...don't u think?

Alinus it is not matter of worth or not worth, what I feel is the fun of getting a fone back to life can be quite fun .....
AS they say never judge a fone by its cover....
