How to tell if 6610 is locked?

Hi,

I have a nokia 6610, and would like to know if there is a way to tell if it is locked without trying out another sim?

I don't know anyone with a different network sim.

PS. I hope I have not asked a question that has been answered many times before. I did try a search, but to no avail.

you can tell if your phone is locked by using a data-cable and program that can read this information from the phone.
or, you can just try to unlock it, if you get the message "Sim Restriction Off" - it was locked before, and if you get the message "Sim Not Restricted" - it wasn't.
besides that, if you are not going to change simcards in that phone, what does it matter if it is locked or not?
