Faid Update!!!

Hey guys,
i have a problem going down here, i have a standard mbus cable for the 82xx series and have been trying 2 re-calc FAID, it says its sucessful in updating but it still will not work. i herd though that if u place a diode somewhere on the circuit of the mbus cable that it will work!!! can anyone help me with this problem, i have tryed buildng a m2bus cable but it just doesnt want to do it for me either!!!!
OR does any one have a working schematic of a standard mbus cable that can do faid....??????
