Wireless IRC etc. using the PC's internet connection (bluetooth)

I have made an access point to let my phone use my computer's internet connection via bluetooth, but i have only managed to get IM+, Netfront and AvantGo work.

Programs like Wireless IRC, Yellow FTP, and the phone's email function don't work.

When i use these program the "G" icon appears, and it connects. (but it doesn't work anyway)

Why?

Any special settings I need in the access point?

Could you post the instructions how you did the accespoint to the PC internet connection?

I will get me an bluetooth USB to connect to my phone today and thats sounds like a blast to be able to use the phone and the PC internetconnection at home.

It works with wireless irc too, but you gotta change default access point to none.
