Is It A Concern

hello all i recently had a nokia 6150 that didnt charge and i checked the fuse on the board for continuity and there was none so i removed it and linked the board over, now then its used as a back up phone of mine, is this in your opinion a safe repair or should you refit a fuse onto the board, it charges fine now. if i do need to replace the fuse where do you get them from, also i have a 3210 that dont charge is there a fuse on the board for that?

You should deffinatly replace the fuse!
They wouldn't have put it in there if it wasn't needed!!!

The fuse will protect the rest of the phone from being damaged if you get a small surge of power or a short circuit!

For 6150... Goodluck!!! The only one you'll find is off an old secondhand one!!!

If it's charging and the fact that it's only a 6150, I'd say that what you did will sufice!!!

I would take the risk if I were you and leave it hard soldered. After all, it's only a backup phone! Finding, removing and reinstalling said fuse will only be tiresome, irritating and ...ultimately could blow again...

Do you know what caused it to blow? I would get a new charger just in case. They are cheap....

no i dont know what blew the fuse, i was given the phone ages ago with all locks closed it wouldnt charge aswell so i left it in my spares box with other phones and one day thought i will fix those phones and did so all of them

If its not broken, don't fix it.

Although any irregularities in phones are generally a concern.
