    Two possible reasons:

    1. It is the 4.30 version.
Due to Bad Flash checksum calc in ppm manager for some versions it always results in bad faid updating.

    2. The flash U edited might also have the eeprom area.
Only use the mcu&ppm for editing in ppm manager.

The rest seems good, perform nr 15 & 16 only if required.

    I only use mcu & ppm v 4.50 pack h (3,473,408 bytes)

Is there any method to update PPM CRC without using ppm manager v0.91 ?

CRC is not the problem, many tools do it.
    Flash check is.

I checked NHM6-0450B, unfortunately on a clean version it gave bad result too.

However if the only change U want is those 2 characters, there should be a possibility.

Because the fchk value doesn't have to change!
This can only be done on an working or clean file.

    - Change those two byte values in ppm manager, save again without doing the Recalcs!
    - Recalc the ppm crc's, eg by using nfree.
    - Then reflash & update faid.

    Hi Mr. Dytln,

I Used this method on a 3310-513 to add "Blinking and LineFeed Character"

Should work for U too I hope.

    1. Get full flash from working phone. (mcu+ppm)
    2. Open PPM Manager, open the Flash U just made.
    3. Click Tools, TEXT Chuck, Export as two text files...
    4. Enter Filename and click Save
    5. Open this text file with notepad or word.
    At line:
    29 COMM .,?!:;-+#*()'"_@&$\xA3%/<>\xBF\xA1\xA7=\xA4\xB0\xA5
    delete 2 \xB0\xA5
    add \x01 for BLINKING Character
    add \x0A for LineFeed Character
    it look like:
    29 COMM .,?!:;-+#*()'"_@&$\xA3%/<>\xBF\xA1\xA7=\xA4\x01\x0A
    6. Save and Exit.
    7. Open PPM Manager and Open the 3330.fls file again.
    8. Click Tools, TEXT Chunk, Import from text files
    9. Browse on the modified TEXT file and click Open.
(this also does recalcs the ppm crc for that text chunk)
    10. Save and Exit...Connect fone using Flasher.
    11. flash the modified 3330.fls on my phone.
    12. restart the phone.

    Remember:
    - NOT use update all ppm crc's in ppm manager.
    - NO faid update should be required.

Ignore my ignorance, but what does the LineFeed char look like on the phone, I only heard about this one just now.

I can do the blinking chars, but never heard of the LineFeed one.

    Hi Mr. Liam,

It is the command to jump to the next line.

Like the Enter after each line of text.

So adding it to menu text means that the text will go on two lines yeah?
I know what I line feed it, just thought it may have some some special effect to the text rather than next line...

    Unhappy blinking sms

i have tried to add blinking sms into my 2 phones : 8250 (vre 5.00 package K) and 3310 (ver 5.55 package H).

    Here is my problem :-
    1. my 8250 works fine in english & simplified language, but when i switched to chinese traditional language, all the chinese words run-off ? WHY ? How to solve this problem?

    2. my 3310 only works with english language, when i switch to simplified chinese (I can't find both traditional & simplified packages in this version 5.55), all the chinese words run-off.

    Hi Mr. C.C.Wong,

Yep, ppm manager doesn't seem to like this version 555H.

It looses some texts while only saving and reimporting again, without modifying.

There is some other solution for U.
In a hexeditor program U can change 2 bytes.

    at 17.0F36 from 8B to 01
    at 17.0F37 from A5 to 0A

Then recalc all crc's in ppm manager.
