    Question fixing led pads

    Hi,
This is my first new thread so i would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who posts on here as i have learnt a lot and successfully upgraded my 8210 to 8250 and 3310 to 3315 aswell as discovered how to edit graphix etc. Thanks!

The problem I have is that when fitting blue leds to my 8210, the pad under the number 3 and 6 has come off
I was wondering if there was anyway of sticking the led in the correct place but wiring it from another led, or place on the board, so it lights up as normal?

help would be very much appreciated as my phone looks really odd with one led out.

    Step 1

    LED s are connected Parallel.

    1. Solder the LED with two tiny wires but solder the top pads of the LED.(You need the bottom part Flat, 'cos you have to Stick your LED by Super Glue.)

  3. #3

    Step 2, 3

    2. Paste the LED in your correct place (the palce where the LED was before) by Super Glue.

    3. You can see some unsolderd LED pads underneath ( look at the picture)

Solder the Two wires from LED to these unsolderd pads.(Anode/ Cathode are same as the faulty pads)

    Step 4

    4. Paste a Sticky Tape on top of the wire connections to avoid of getting short circuit.(As the Pic.)

    THNK YOU.

    Hi,
I have fit the led and it lights up
but it is lightly less bright then the rest of the leds?

I actually made a mistake when I tried to follow your instructions. I have attached a picture of what I have done.
Is it because I have wired it to the pads above that it is slightly less bright?

It doesn't matter connection from above or below. it should work same as the other LEDs.

Is that New LED and old once are the same....or you bought it from a another place(I mean not the same identical LED)

Because i had so many blue LED batches purchased time to time. but every batch had some different different colour, Brightness variations.

    Thanks

    Hi koopt,
Yes, it is of a different manufacturer.
I guess its just not made to the same brightness of the other leds. Nevermind I can live with that, as long as it lights the 3 and 6 I am happy with it.

Thanks for you help with this problem, your very much appreciated.

best of regards and kind wishes to you.
