buying 6100 from philippines - pitfalls?

I'm looking at purchasing a 6100 from Manila,Philippines as they are supposed to be retailing at about US$300(can anyone confirm this?).

Apart from having no warranty (as I'm from New Zealand) are there any other pitfalls?

6100 cost range from 11000-14000 here in the philippines but sad to say they dont have any warranty. i dont know where this people get such phone but if you ask me, ill buy those from telecom providers such as globe or smart (about 14000+) since they offer a warranty for one year. its quite risky to buy phones here in the philippines without warranty since filipinos are quite smart nowadays and are changing brand new parts with old ones and trying to tell you that these phones are brand new.
