Do you use an original Headset? When i bought my 7650 i got a 8310 headset with it, sounded ok though.
Maybe if you buy a wireless BT headset the quality is better.

I use an original Nokia headset for the "latest" phone phone (8xxx, 6xxx, 3xxx etc.)

The answear is really easy: 3650 is only in mono! even though u have dual earphones( like the HDD-1 for instance) the sound is really bad.
