    8390 unlocked?

I have a Nokia 8390 When I put my sim card in it everything works just no signal. Do this mean its still locked? I use Cingular and the phone sayes Rogers. My old Nokia has full signal here.
My IMEI: 010093302743961 Thanks for your help. Alan

It may be that she Sim Card i an Old version
    try an other sim Card
and yes your fone is unlocked
but do test it out with an newer sim card
If no sim card work in the fone
then it can be that you fone is barred
deu ( to have been reported stolen or lost )

How can I find out if it is banned? I bought it on ebay as a new phone. What should do now? Alan

try Other sim Cards From other Providers to see if it works
like that you can see if it is barred or not

Should I change any settings on the phone? My old phone is a Nokia 6340i. I got the sim card new from cingular in jan or feb of this year. I don't have another sim card. What can i do to make it work? I also have another 8390 phone that won't work that i can use for parts. Anything?

srry u can use it where u live what state do u live in .u could sell them fo 50 to 70usd .the 6340i is 850 and 1900 band and in your state thay use 850 so if u go to NJ or NY u can use all of your phones becoues thay use 1900 band

If you had this phone and lived in NY using 1900 and came down to GA wouldn't it still work? In my contract with Cingular I got free long distances and free romeing. Theres got to be a way to make it work right?

I see that your fone is a
    Service
    GSM 1900 / GPRS
fone that meen it will not work where you have
    850/900/1800 GSM areas
nor in the rest of the world
for you to have covarage you will need a fone that is Tri band (850/900/1800/1900) GSM areas
like that you will have your problem solved

Check this link and see wat i meen
