I tried doing that and I got a message saying code error? I have rechecked the IMEI number and it is def right. What would the problem be?

I bought the phone on ebay, from a guy in england. It says vodafone live on the box! The phone is less than 1 month old and i'm looking to put an o2 simcard in it!

Ok what i did was:
1. took simcard out of phone and put battery back in
2. a message saying insert simcard came up
3. I then followed your exact instructions and rechecked before pressing the final #
4. The previous time it said "code error" but this time it said "not allowed"
5. I've read the other forum posts and am afraid of locking the phone completely
6. I've now entered the wrong number in 3 times

What should i do and why is it not working?

now you will only beable to unlock you fone by cable

I don't have the old sim card, i only have my own simcard. I only entered the code in 3 times tho How do i go about getting this unlocked? is there no other way to do this?
