Nokia upgrades -> Flash sizes

Ok various posts have arisen whereby people have upgraded their fones to different models

I understand for an upgrade the resultant fone must have the same amount of Flash size

Could people please post the various Flash sizes of nokia mobile fones?

So we can understand and hopefully upgrade older models if possible

Or any info appreciated

Hmm...

Surely you have seen an address table with start and finish addresses for various Nokias... so if you find 2 phones with the same start and same finish, wouldn't that in turn result as the same size for the flash file?

well.. 5510 has 4MB flash-file. 3310 has 2MB.
you can flash 3310 fullflash to 5510 twice, 0x200000-400000 and 400000-600000.
result: 5510 with 3310 software.
but that doesn't work because of 5510's keyboard. you can't enter pin-code.
well, it will work with 3330 same way.

but only thing where i could use this is repairing.
so, if i take 3330, and put it in 5510 covers and use 5510 keyboard, i have to flash 5510 software to 3330. and it will work. (i hope )

but about making eg. 5110 to 3210..
it may be possible.
anyone tried to solder bigger flash-chip to 5110? and then flashing 3210 to it? or changed 3210 flash-chip to 5110?

i believe that nokia has done some kind of expandable system..
