cancelling in the middle of tranferring files

When you tranfer files from the PC to the 6600 using IR, then in the middle of the file transfer you cancelled it, would the parts of the file transferred to the phone before you cancelled be saved to the phone memory/MMC? I want to know because i want to erase unnecessary files in my phone. This cancellation in the middle of transfer has happened to me a lot of times already. I wonder if the parts of those files took up memory on my phone/MMC. Thanks!
