V200 IMEI (just advice needed!)

Hi, say I had the cable & software (UST56) to change the IMEI on a v200, could I enter any 15 digit number for the new IMEI, or does it have to be in a certain format (ie, are there any parts of the original one that have to be kept the same, country/network codes etc)?

Also, is the new IMEI active as soon as its programmed?

all you have to do is make sure whatever imei you put in is a valid imei if you use smartcalc type in any imei and it will display if it is valid or not here is a valid imei you can put into your v200
