    3650 Help

Hi, I'm new to the forum so did a search to see if the answer was already here. If it is, I missed it!
So, I have a second hand 3650 with firmware version 2.50 (UK version, living in the UK). I've found a shop who will flash the firmware for me, however after reading some of the posts, I'm guessing I don't want 4.13!!
The phone doesn't seem to have any problems I've noticed, other than the earpiece being quite quiet in calls (original Nokia cover with rubber bit, volume at full) and it's quite slow. Other than that I've not noticed anything
However, I like to have the latest firmwares for things and so I was hoping someone could tell me what benefits I'd get from upgrading (but not to 4.13). No point in me doing so if it just introduces bugs without adding any features or enhancements.
    Thanks folks

    Come on! Someone must know!
Should I or should I not update the firmware?

I upgraded my firmware to 4.13 to allow the phone access to a 512Mb mmc and haven't had any trouble with it since, aside from when Agile Messenger was corrupted (which apparently is a fault with it's actual code) which corrupted the entire phone, forcing me a format of everything (luckily beforehand, I had sufficient backup and a bit of wits about me to get around certain sharing errors that was inhibiting me from restoring my contact list)

All in all, I have had no trouble with the version itself. I never had any trouble with 2.50 either, but the upgrade, as I said, was for the mmc.

Thanks for that. Did you notice anything at all other than the MMC part, such as speed, new features etc? I have found that the earpiece volume is very quiet, even witht he volume turned up full

Nope, I didn't notice any changes at all, I've always had the system running smoothly and fast, perhaps it is because it is second hand, therefore having alot of applications installed onto the phone memory, leaving little space for the actual phone to work smoothly?

If you got a mmc, it's best to install the apps onto that, not the phone memory.

I already do use an MMC card, and there is nothing installed on the phone memory.
I have read that Symbian 6 is sluggish anyway (compared to other OSs), so it doesn't really bother me, but of course being able to speed it up would be nice.
So if upgrading from 2.5 to anything else doesn't really do anything other than increase the MMC compatibility then I don't see much point in doing it.

If you look around here, there's somewhere that states the features of each version. I think getting a newer version would speed it up, but I wouldn't know, when I got the phone, it was brand new and fast, almost immediatly I got it upgraded so I didn't really notice any difference.

    Thanks.
I've had a look but I don't see anything. Does anyone have a link to that thread?
