Will the DKU-5 data cable Nokia sells allow me to unlock my 3585i with software such as winlock, nokia tool, or wintesla?

the cable nokia sells for this phone is usb most of the software i've seen only supports serial cables. If anyone knows of a serial cable that will work with the 3585i I would appreciate a link. Also if anyone can tell me where to find Wintesla or winlock, or any other app that will let me unlock my phone. I also need to be able to change the start-up logo on the phone as well, Alltel and verizon both will not activate a phone with another providers logo on it.
