problems using cable dku-5 with nokia 3100

i bought data cable dku-5 and i tryed to use in in my computer in the first couple of times it showed everything but didn't want to show things in the phone or send files and now i tried to use it again and when i connect the cable it show's that the cable is connected but the phone dosn't and i checked it in the phone and when i connect the cable to the phone it say's the cable is connected but the catagory of the items that connected to the phone in the main of the phone is gone i tryed to reset to defualt and it's still not back i tryed to look for that without the cable connect to the phone or the computer and it still dosn't show it and even after taking the sim card out or shuting down the phone and did alot and it's still missing what can i do to get it back? help!!!!!

I use a usb-to-serial communications cable and Oxigen Phone Manager 2.2.
I had some problems at the beginning but now it works nice. I just have to wait until the program has finished starting and then, when it's on standby, I connect my phone.

Hope it helps; I'm a newbie and wanted to put my little contribution. If you are using another cable and/or program, I cannot help sorry

reinstall the driver and select the correct com port so it can emulate the usb cable as serial.

what software are you using ?
