6340i etc unlocking and network problems

Someone please help, i have two 6340is both unlocked... But they wont seem to get network gsm 1900, i have gone trhough a lot of posts tryin to find a solution but i came to nothing...some one with proper expertise or think they know something need to help us once and for all...why wont the phone get network..its a GAIT phone so i assumed it would work on a gsm line...they were previously working on cingular...after unlocking i tried t-mobile and it worked...i have now tried Telcel a network in Africa Zimbabwe...i get no reception

if you're in america, your african telecom doesn't have a roaming agreement with the various U.S. telecoms here or if the african telecom does have a roaming agreement, maybe it's just that you yourself did not have international roaming activated for the african telecom simcard.

but if you're in africa right now, then 6340i's won't work coz it is an 850/1900mhz gsm only phone when in gsm mode. africa like almost all continents other than north america are 900/1800mhz gsm networks. so you have a perfectly working fone that is non-compatible in the coverage area that you are in.
