Pansonic x70 security failure message? I need help please

I have a panasonic x70 (nice!) but it has a mssage saying 'security failure' and I am not too sure if unlocking it will cure the problem? Help me please!!!!

sorry mate - unlocking wont help you - security failure on panasonic phones means barred.

security failure happens when you test the phone with a non active sim card, or not registered ,it's no big deal
you have to test the phone with a working SIM

I have a X70 witht the same problem was fine until a few days ago been using for about 2 months., sim is ok works on other phones. its a ex contract phone i bourght on e-bay as ex contract sold due to upgrade.
