Handset won't come out of headset mode

Hi everyone, will admit somewhat the newbie here but here goes: I searched for assistance elsewhere to no avail but my 8390 won't come out of headset mode no matter what I do. Anyone know what I can do short of paying to have it repaired by Nokia for $? I'll just go out and buy a new one for that matter, don't think the phone's worth that much anymore. Thanks in advance...

you'll prolly find its the connector block at the bottom of the phone.

REmove the cover, undo the 6 screws on the lcd /keypad.

gently remove the key/lcd and main board. the h/.free connector and charger socket is there.

try putting a little bit of paper of tape over the connectors and re-assemble. if it works, you know the fault. if you ever use the h.free leave the tape there.
