Completely and utterly dead 3310

This phone will not turn on.

Rollis, Knok22 Peonix, DCT-3 flasher, Nokia tool by Jordik, EEprom tools, Logger, Nokia profile 117, XPmobile, Logomanager and probably some others i cant remember will not read or recognize the phone in anyway.

Could it really be that dead????

Well,

where did you get the phone? Did it get bumped, wet, anything that could cause physical damage? Was it working or indeed has it ever worked (while in your hands of course)? Was it ever flashed, did it die on you after a flash?

Did you plug a charger in it to see if it charges the battery (could be just a damaged on/off button, I've seen this before though this wouldn't account for flashing problems).

I bought the phone as faulty, to repair, this is the first one thats really got me stumped, it wont even charge, nightmare.

Oh yes and thoroughly cleaned all contacts with a solvent contact cleaner.

And i just noticed a small burn mark on the pcb, could this have any thing to do with it?

Well, it looks like the whole PCB isn't in very good shape (looks like it's been handled before, contacts on PCB look oxidated as if they'd bee touched).

I think the burn mark may have something to do with it, especially since one of the compenents next to it (not sure but it looks like a resistor, but it could be a capacitor) may have been burnt as well.

Maybe the PCB is burned on the other side too.

Now, I don't know if Nokia PCBs are two- or three-sided (meaning that there may be internal circuit tracks as well), so there could be internal damage.

In any case, check the component that seems to be burned and bridge the burned section of the PCB, shown in the pic. Maybe a bad soldering job damaged it. Also check the other side of the PCB for any other signs of heat damage.

That's it, I don't know much about repairing SMDs and microelectronic circuits but I hope this helps!
