6210/6310 car hands free problems

hi, ive been told, or i read somewere that the nokia 6110/6210 car hands free kit will not work properly with the 6310!

can anybody shed any light on this please.

im sure i read that you have to take the cradle apart, and do something with the wires inside it.

please help if you know how to do it.

Hi,

I tried a 3rd party hands free car kit that is designed for Nokia 5110/6110 models -- and it did NOT work with my 6310i.

It did work with a 6210 though - which I found very suprising.

When I insert the 6310 into the cradle, it decides that there is a car kit there and shows a small car on the phone display. However, approx 0.5 seconds later the symbol disappears, accompanied with a flicker in the backlight. There is something it is not happy with for sure... and it then assumes no car kit.

I have since verified that my 6310 is OK in a friends Nokia car kit, so I do not have a faulty phone (yet).

Well my car kit was a proper nokia one and it worked just fine. But now I have the SWEET nokia bluetooth one and thats even better.

Perhaps you mean software bugs that mean the phone doesnt operate quite right in the kit. The 6310 was terrible in a kit but the 6310i is not to bad, apart from if you are talking on the phone and you get a call waiting you lose your microphone for about 8 seconds!

Did you solve this? I have the same issue with a third party Car kit.

Biggest problem I've heared about 6310 in cark 91 is that it does not turn off when the ignition is turned off, although I did hear that this was fixed in later software. (doesn't on mine v4.80).
Also heared that peeps who owned Mercedes who had the mercedes car kit for the 6210 were pretty miffed when they upgraded to 6310's as they wouldn't work in the mercedes holder . I heared this was fixed as well (wonder how much mercedes had to pay nokia)

3rd party compat car kit works fine on my 6210. No problems at all. :>
