A couple of faq's in regards to the above mod:
There are 2 different areas, 1 which is for the LCD backlighting area and then other for the Keyboard lighting.. On the 51,61 UI board pictured in previous post the other one is directly across (to the right hand edge) on the board
Yes, YOU WILL consume more battery power w/that mod
If you do it to your stock led's they will turn from a 'pee green' to a 'pee yellowish green'.(Not Recommended) We did this years ago w/stock led's just to see how much they could take.
It is possible led's could become dimmer because they become overheated. So its typically only recommended for the Higher Voltage requiring led's (blue,white,pink,purple,super green)
With the right set of led's YES it is much brighter.
Although it didnt do much good on our new 6100
