    Dead 5210 Won`t flash

    Hi All

Been asked to look at a dead 5210 for a mate that wont turn on. Ive done a little hunting on here and tried reflashing with knok (phenoix) but it wont read the phone at any level, same with rollis 478b. So I assume its hardware! can anyone give me any things I can check/repair my self on this phone, ive got a T6 and soldering iron at the ready

    cheers

This is what I did when my 7110 didn't want to be flashed:
    * Put a rubber band to hold the flash connector in place hard.
    * Removed the battery and tried again.
    * Plugged in the charger when it asked me to power on.
    * Tried everything five more times.

    Good luck.

    Cheers for the reply, but iam unsure quite what u mean about the charger;

Do I plug in the charger at the point it requests the turn on (but dont actuly press the phones on button)

    or

Do I plug in the charger at the point it requests the turn on and press the phones on button

    or

plug in the charger at any time then turn on the phone at the prompt?

    Thanks...

    This is what I did:
    1. I removed the battery and put it back.
    2. Started to flash from a DCT-3 flasher.
    3. When it asked me to press power on I pressed power on.
    4. When this didn't help I repeated 1 and 2 then inserted the charger when it asked me to press the power button.

I had to do it some times before it worked. You should also check the flash cable so it makes good contact with the phone.

So you plug in the charger at the point it requests the turn on, and if the phone don't start to flash you can try to pres the power button.
