8310 unlocking

hi ppl ive just bought a nokia dct4 unlocking clip but am having trouble with the 8310 could someone tell me how to use it, do you have to have a sim card in the cilp i tried one today and after i done it it came up "phone restricted" and asked for a registration code. does this mean i've buggered the phone? i'm not sure if the phone was bolcked before i got me hands on it.
please help

nah the phone is fine u just have 2 put your sim in the date cable part clip and use jic 2 unlock it just hope it aint barred or u gonna b in the same mess iam in :/

thanx for your help buddy. sorry for being dumb but whats jic. i'm new to dct 4 i've never seen a sim holder in an unlocking clip before

NO MATE, ALL I DID WAS REMOVE THE SIM CARD AND HOLDER, PLUG IN THE 8310 CLIP, TURN ON THE PHONE, AND RAN THE SOFTWARE.

THE PHONE GOES OFF,
COMES BACK ON DISPLAYING "TEST MODE"
THE SOFTWARE DISPLAYS THE IMEI AND SOME OTHER INFO,
A PROGRESS BAR INDICATES TIME REMAINING, AND JOG DONE.

NO WIRES CONNECTED TO GROUND FOR ME MATE

yeah that helps mate but don't think i explained right, i've got one of those clips that don't need a pc, you know, a small box with 4 batterys and a push button to unlock it

oh i see well iam not 100% sure but i really dont think that will work my mate had the box b4 and it was for only flashin like resetting security ect.

because u need DCT4 software on your pc, simcard in the sim card holder part ect. i

i really thought u needed the original 8310 data cable but not sure

its best 2 wait for someone else 2 post that knows more wat there doing but ill have a quick look into it now for u :d

i was only trying to unlock it not unblock it, my friend said that was all it needed (its not my phone). thanx for your help dude at least i know i did the right things to unlock it.

Check the version of the phone with *#0000#, and if it's 5.57 or greater, not all the clips unlock it, only newer ones. If you have an older one, bad luck... You need to bring it to one who can either downgrade and unlock it, or has a newer unlock clip/flasher box(griffin, afd, neelix2) which can directly unlock it.

i know the phone was v5.11 so my clip should of done it yeah? i only bought the clip at the weekend. maybe the phone was blocked i should of checked first eh?

Seand me IMEI and network code (mcc-mnc) and am seand you back code for unlocking OK?

Hi all, i have just had a repair done to my 8310 and they have now upgraded the software to v5.80 I bought a clip but it won't unlock it.How can i upgrade or down grade it.Is there any software that i can use.
