Do I need vpp and btemp pins for flashing?

Hi, I have a 3210 flahser cable that doesn't work, and I also have a switchable 3210 mbus/fbus cable. THe difference is the vpp and btemp pins. Are these required for flashing?

VPP is required for 3210 flashing (on this pin must be +5V). BTEMP - not.

So I can just apply an external +5v source?

I've used +5V directly from my PC power supply (I think that you just want to use connector from your mbus/fbus cable in flasher , is I'm right?)

Yeah. I want to get a 4 pin mbus/fbus cable, reconfigure the wires so they're the same as my flasher cable, and then use a paperclip or something that's +5v and use it for the vpp
    Would that work?

    Hi,

Only 4 pins work ok too.

The trick is to lift up the battery about 0,5cm.

Just before flashing, it asks to press the power on button.

Press ok, press the battery in it's place while also press the power on button.

It takes some exercising to do it all at once, but it saved me a new cable.

    Good Luck.

NokDoc, that's such a relief! I was wondering how I was going to add an extra pin, but now I guess I don't have to! Thanks.. I'm pretty sure I understand your instructions. I'll give it a go and let you know if I can get it to work.

    Thanks!

Does anyone have a pinout diagram for 3210? I need to go from a serial cable (that connects to my dejan box and nk box) to the phone.
    Thanks!
