thanks very much. I have entered first code and it displayed the message 'Phone restriction off' but I tested it on a Vodaphone sim and received 'Phone restricted please enter code' on startup of the phone. As I am a rookie do I enter the same first code again here (dont want to lock up the phone with incorerct pins), or do you know if this is refering to another code?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

No, by entering code 1, you have unlocked lock 1.

The phone has four locks, by entering code 7, you unlock all of them.

<EDIT>Take out any sim card in the phone then...</EDIT>

So, either:

Enter code 7 (Unlocks all the locks)
Enter code 2 (Unlocks code 2)

If you enter code 7, if should be fine, if you enter code 2 and it still doesn't work, then lock 4 is probably locked.

My advice is to enter code 7 and have the phone fully unlocked.

The codes are dependant on the network...find it out by going to something like this:

Settings --> Phone Settings --> Network selection --> Manual

Then look at the one that is first on the list (You can then press cancel and it will go back to Automatic)

Then look up the provider in a network list

Thanks for the lighting fast codes! I have searched all of these forums before asking for help. I start up the phone without sim card. It states "insert sim card". I cannot produce the "p" or "w" by entering "***" and "****". Is the P and W not visible when entering? When I get to the end of the string, nothing happens. What am I missing? 3650 versino 2.54
