3330 half way repaired.. Half screwed.. hehe

I've got a 3330 4.16. It got a little damp and so it short circuited and went to contact service.

I got a 3330 4.30 image from my other phone (works perfectly) and flashed it direct 2000000 to 6000000 (rolis 4.77)

I then Unlocked all locks on phone, and updated FAID.

This stopped the Contact Service stupidity, but now the phone turns on automatically (no need to press the button) and on any key press goes directly to (turn off Menu) and turns itself off. It periodically cycles through having connection and then losing it. nothing can be pressed.

I figure that it must be a software problem, so I've probably made a huge blunder. So any ideas?

and a question. What is the 00000000 to 20000000 sector on the phone? equivalent to ram?

Also, can Rolis be used to flash something that ends before 6000000? (in 3330 selection?)

try to heat it first use a blow dryer then try reflashing it and dont forget to update the faid it helps when my friend dropped his fone in our sink and it is what i did

might sound like a stupid n00b remark,

tried flashing the eeprom too?

(virgin eeprom of the same version as your 'new' flashfile....)

The only thing I can think of is a bad flashfile, I got the same problem a couple of times, I flashed the original file from my phone and i worked again. Maybe you should try to get a new backup from your other 3330 and flash it again. Maybe it works..

I had one once where there was water inside the Power switch making the connection.

If you turn on a nokia and keep holding the power button thats exactly what happens....... Just a thought.

Okey, I have now reflashed it with a completely new 4.50 flash file.. It starts up, does the animated logo. Then no buttons can be pressed, except the start button, when you do it goes to the menu (Turn off, General, Silent) but it automatically stays on turn off...

The power switch could well be screwed.. will try drying and cleaning it..

But in the mean time .. any other suggestions for things to try?

btw the amount of water was tiny.. I just picked up the phone after a shower and a few drops fell around the LCD screen and must have seeped in... ??

Somebody know what is region 00000.. to 200.... in nokia phone with rolis when I load mcu and ppm separatelly and try to flash program say updating region 0000... 200.... (sorry dont't know how many 0) by the way somebody can tell me where I can found a good intelligible schematic diagram of nokia 3210? All found on the net is at a low resolution and can't understand too much .I have a problem with conexion betwen eeprom and cpu ,at lower temperature phone loose network sometime loose even personal setings and much options are at 0 even ringtone .But at normal temp works fine.Already try to heat pcb and check eeprom conexion but dont't work.

Okay. To date I have

Taken phone apart, Cleaned in Meths. Wiped board and plastic sheet clean. Blow dried dry (forever)

(This fixed the automatic start problem.)

Flashed with Nokia 3330 NHM6 4.30 (from working phone I also have), updated Faid - Problem as listed below

The phone appears to work. It starts fine and the nokia thing appears.. then I can access phone menu and sim card etc.. But! - There is no signal.. at all.. the bar stays irritatingly lifeless. No calls can be made. (nothing initializes) and then to cap it all off. After about twenty seconds, the phone resets itself.

when it resets itself. The sim locks are turned back on and all sim cards are rejected. (If I turn it off before it resets itself the sim locks stay off..)

any suggestions? any aerial specific cleaning to be done? recalibration?

Dear God.. someone throw me a lifeline.. It's like using a chocolate chisel ....!!
