    Question 3210 Empty Eeprom Flashing

    Dear Sirs,
I have on my hands one Nokia 3210 that needs reflash (or reset to factory settings) on the EEPROM. Would you like to give me a guide how to do that I mean how can flash only the EEPROM (I have a "virgin 3210 EEPROM), using what program e.t.c.
Please note that I have the proper flash cable (NK-FLASH) taken from ucables.com and I can follow instructions with out problems I suspect ...
    Thanks in advance

    Exclamation

3210 has seperate eeprom, it's not included in flash memory... So afaik the only way to reprogram the eeprom is to desolder the eeprom from the phone, program it with an eeprom programmer and solder it back...

But it sounds to me that you are not sure about what you're doing... you talk about reflashing... and resetting factory defaults asif it's the same thing...

I suggest you do some more reading on the subjects before you try anything with the eepprom on your 3210...

    Dear KnOeFz,
first of all I thank you for your reply.
Regarding my 3210 the problem that I have (in more details) are the bellow:
On of my friends gave me one second hand 3210.
When I turn on the phone I get "contact service" at screen.
I tryied to flash new software (6.00) sucessfully BUT after flashing I still
get the "contact service" message. (When flashing, I did FAID re-update using NokTool17b).
    After reading this :
{1. Symptoms:CONTACT SERVICE appears on the screen:
Description: Indication that the data of the MCU or PPM or Mostly EEPROM is corrupted.
Solution: Apply method A and Method E
    -----------------------------------------------------
-- Method A: Try to reflash the phone with the original or corrected backup by using
flasher cable and proggies for flashing, like kNok, flash tool or Dejan flasher.

-- Method E: Try to upload virgin eeprom or eeprom from a working phone,
then change IMEI with eeprom tools 3.1,or Rolis 1.7b,or nk_calc,
turn the phone off and then back on,now all 4 locks are OPEN and the IMEI changed,
now you UPDATE FAID using one of these 3 tools, and your phone will work now.....
    If your phone still doesn´t get into network use log calculator by TEK....}

So, I decided to try to clear the EEPROM as possible solution in my problem... BUT HOW???

    What do you thing about?
Any suggestion of you will be very wellcome...

    Best Regards

b-phreaks eepromtools can tell you the problem.
just launch that program with mbus cable conected, and pres test-button.

if you need to change original imei to 3210, try first knok-phoenix.
eepromtools did not work for me, but knok did it.
