Win 98, Rollis 4.78, and still it doesn't work. Why?

Ok, I had lots of trouble trying to flash with WinXp. 'Luckily' my hdd died and so now I have Win98 installed. The problem is I keep getting the same message: "Power off mobile first and then connect...."

The power on the phone is off. What is wrong?? Could my dejan dongle be busted?

Should I try my "NK-BOX" with rollis?

man, use your nokia box when using the rolis flasher and use the dejan box when using dejan's software. it's as simple as that.

IT WORKED!!!!
Now my only questions are these:
1) What is the 'DUMFILE'? It said in the rollis log that it was skipped.
2) What was the warning in the Rollis talking about when it said that theres some security data in the memory and if you overwrite it or erase it, your phone will die. Is this the only way that I can damage the phone? How can I avoid damaging it like this?

Dont worry bout the DUMFILE!
This aint an error! Its just a normal process on ROLIS.

As for the SECURITY DATA. Thats the eeprom!
Are you flashing a FULL BACK UP!

Or what addresses are you flashing to??

I'm not sure what I was flashing with the ProjectZ file, but when I backed up, I saved 200000 to 400000. If I was to mess up the security data, (and kill the phone), would I be able to just flash one of those backups to restore it?

If your writting your own BACK UP onto the fone then you have nothing to worry bout! Even when your gettin errors! There's nothing 2 worry bout as any DCT3 can be flashed all over the place!!

When backin up

E.G. 8210

Back up from addy 200000 to 400000


But like I said! Any DCT3 phone can be flashed without worries as the Eeprom can be repiared easily!

So what you're saying is that there's no permanent way to kill my phone as long as I have a backup from 200000 to 400000? (As long as I don't try flashing a different phone's SW (like 8210) to my 3310).

Well technically! Even if u flash ur fone wit DIFF fone SW!
U can still fix it by flashin MCU + PPM maybe even an Eeprom & this will eradicate ur problem!!

know what, even without EEPROM backup, you can still revive your dead phone. just be resourceful and think of new ways of solving your problem.
