    leaked nokia secuity code exploit

I have aquired a new special code for the nokia dct4 handsets which seems to be some form of eeprom reset/repair, but a word of warning, use it only ONCE, or it will break your phone. and I aint found a way to repair the problem.

This was a supposed way to reset the security code but I think it resets all the phone defaults as it seems to remove logo's etc.

    switch on phone, with sim,
    phone asks for security code,
(follow carefully now!) type 55544, but do NOT press ok,
instead press the RED hang up button, then remove the batt and re-boot. it will ask for security code again, this time it should be 12345. if you use it again, the phone will hang and re-boot automatically every time the security code is entered.

I think my phone may need re-flashing, allthough I dont have a DCT4 flasher.

    REMEMBER, ONLY ONCE!

as far as I understand its still just a pipe dream, unfortunately we need somone who can follow ARM processor code as this is what the DCT4's use. we still dont know if the flash is encrypted but as far as I know it is not, someone said that he was able to follow the code but got a bit lost. I'd love to be able to program ARM but I think that about all I can manage is 68000 or PIC code.

even if it is not encrypted then I can bet the IMEI algo is, so that would be something else to contend with.

If there are any ARM literate programmers out there do you fancy helping?

    Dave.

Tried this on a 6510, the other day, but it didn't work. I didn't dare try it a second time because of your warning.

I'll try some other models though, as and when they come along.
