Dear All,

I'm a newbie with some knowledge on mobiles but have a personal problem I cannot sort out. I have a Nokia 6100 that belongs to me. I reported it stolen 7 weeks ago but of course my daughter had pushed it down the back of the couch, the battery went flat and the contract people replaced the phone swithcing the phone off imie wise. As I now have two phones I would like to reenable my old one for my wife to use, they're expensive and it's just sitting there. I'm not asking for warez or stuff just what's the best way to go about enabling the phone myself? I'll buy a cable etc. I can't be bothered asking the phone people to do it cos there will probably be a charge for the service which I don't want to pay. What software would I need to use? I apologise If I am asking the wrong questions but I am pretty new and am trying my best not to tread on any toes If I can't do it myself does anyone know where I can get it done? I have read some of the posts and it appears that i need my old imie to calculate a new one for the phone? Is this correct? I have all the information and I'm honestly not trying to do anything illegal, I just want my phone to work again. Ive tried different sims in the phone and it does work for network connection but I'm not allowed to dial out, the line just drops, so I don't think the phone is network or sim locked in that way. Well...

You see, the problem you have is that your phone is so new (DCT-4) that we or anybody else cannot change your IMEI! What you can do though, is SWAP your phone with someone else who is not in your country! This is illegal though! The IMEI number is listed in your country, but most likely not in others! Just a suggestion!

Thanks for the reply chunky, i understand people may have thought the phone was stolen, it isn't honest. Never mind just one of those things. Shame it's scrap, what a waste eh

you can say to operator that you found it.
or go to nokia service and tell that problem.
if your operator won't believe you, they believe service.
