Question Nokia's MusicStand - not supported??

    Hello
I have a 6610, version 4.18. Last saturday i had a chance to "test" the new Music-Stand thingy from Nokia, which the seller claimed was "for a 7250 only". I have seen advertisements for this thing before, and i was thinking "Pop-port is Pop-port" and plugged my 6610 in. To my surprise it showed "Accessory not supported". When plugging in my boyfriend's 7250, NOTHING at all happened, trying to activate the radio brought the usual "Please connect headset" message.
The seller wasn't really a help as she was to busy checking her make-up!
Now, does Nokia really make these things model-specific??? Or was it as i read in another thread, that i will have to upgrade my phone to a newer software in order to use it? Why did my boyfriend's 7250 not react at all?
If someone could advice me... i would be glad
    Thanks in advance...
    your Thanh

Yes. Accessories are model specific. Music Stand is only compatible with 6220, 6800 and 7250. It won't work with 6610 or 7210. If your phone did'nt reacted after connecting to MS, and still asking for the headsets, it is probably a lose connection. Your phone isn't perfectly sitting on MS.

You have to upgrade your 6610 firmware to ver 4.74. I have my 6610 upgrade and now I'm enjoying the Music stand.

You are absolutely right madgoh. My 6610 v4.74 is working perfectly with MS DT. The profile is now supported. Thanks for correcting me.

    Lightbulb better option.....

Don't wanna mess with the phone... it works so nicely.....
I've got a better idea: Get stereo headset and a pair of amplified computer speakers. Chop off earpieces and connect wires to input of loudspeakers, connect headset plug to phone, and... enjoy music
Cost: below 50% of music stand
    Cheers....
