Anyone know the mem location where all archived sms messages are stored in a 6210? (it can hold 100 or so).
Thanks.![]()

I assume since you are asking for the 'mem location' that you are able to read the FLASH and or EEPROM if it uses one in that model phone.
So with a copy of the file and a HEX EDITOR it should be very easy to locate.
It's located in PMM, for 6210 start address is 3A0000h (if full flash starts at 0h )

I will have a look there. i have looked with a hex editor before. my phone has 126 messages and I certainly did not see that that much text unles it was fragmented throughout the memory.
Thanks.
text SMS aren't composed with 8 bits chars but with 7bits chars
So they might be stored in their oridinal format (7bits chars)
thus you won't be able to see the sms content by looking at the eeprom content with a hex editor.
but you should be able to locate the number of the sender
it should by stored in BCD, when you find it then the SMS content shoud be close.
sms chars are 7 bits wide so you can store 8 sms char in 7 bytes
(8 sms char = 8 * 7 = 56 bits = 7 bytes)
the best thing would be to code the starting of the sms content and look for those bytes in the eeprom
