Nope as the snake on the 6610 is a JAVA game and not a game already present so it doesn't have access to the IR port.

Is there any Java game or inbuild game present in 6610 or 7210 or 7250 which can be played through IR? I don't think so...

    hi peeps!!

i knew that using a 8850 and 8250's built in infrared function, we can play a 2 player game of snake but does this possible for 7210/6610/7250 too??? hope this brings some good answers too!!!

    thank u !!

    impossible, but why, actually?

    Hi
Unfortunately, this is not possible. I did not yet find ANY java game that supports tw-player mode over IR, although i heared of some that support either GPRS or bluetooth, for the series-60 phones.
I wonder myself why do JAVA games not support the IR port? As 6610 and 7210 etc have this port so nicely at the top end of the phone... it would be nice to play snake or whatever with another person. I can remember how "gymnastic" it was to play with two 8250's..... very unlucky place for a IR port
And, a props snake... even 8250 and 6510 couldn't play together because of different "snake" versions..... And when playing via 6510 and 8310, the screen on the 6510 was reduced due to the 8310's lower resolution... sucks
    Best regards....

Ya, it's not possible because 40 series phones don't allow MIDP applications to access IR port. Even 60 series phones don't. Only symbian applications can do that.

Does J2ME allows direct interference of the applications with the device hardware? I'm not talking specifically about Nokia phones but every device which supports J2ME.

is there any point to the IR on these phones (aside from PC > phone), as far as i know all that can be sent from phone to phone is bussiness card and calender notes, if anyone else knows anything else that can be sent from 6610>6610?
