6210 Signal Shows full but calls don't connect

Hi folks.
Well I kept on recalculating the FAID on my 6210 which appeared not to be doing much of anything, but I turned my phone off on Friday and on Saturday morning it was all working - connecting to the network and not dropping the signal after 10 seconds.
But now, seemingly at random, although the handset shows full signal, area code etc calls made to it go straight through to voicemail and calls made from it eventually fail with 3 beeps. Turning it off and leaving it off for a short while seem to cure the problem (until next time).
Any suggestions guys???
