Trouble with data cable for 6610

Hi guys im new too all this and need some help
I bought this data cable from ebay which connects via the ports on the bottom of the phone and then into a serial port on the back of the computer.

Now my problem is nokia pc suite doesnt work with this type of cable and i have done a search thru these forums and tried other programmes but none of them seem to detect my phones connected.

Any help would be great
