S300 Front LCD?

Is there a way so that the front lcd screen on the s300 to stay displaying the time after I've closed it up?

Sorry for such a stupid question but having had Nokia's phones from the year dot I'm finding that changing phone is like learning to ride a bike again.

try..

when your handphone is closed up, try holding the volume button (up or down) on the side for 1-3 seconds, the external screen will light up showing the time..
