    6510 Water Damage

    Hello all

A 6510 that I have got put in the wash. I followed Chunkheads guide, and put the battery in

The lights flickered and after a while all the lights came on brightly... nothing else happenned. The bottom of the phone was starting to warm up rather badly

I put this down to the battery being damaged via the water and shorting the phone out.

Is it likely the phone will power up If I bought a new battery for the phone?

    Thanks.

Try the method again! I have a good feeling about this one! The problem lies in the Power block though I think! Try a different one or try to clean it\heat it!
A friend will bail you out of jail! A true friend will be in the cell with you saying " Shit, we really fucked up this time!!!"

Well, got a replacement battery - the phone is dead again. Should I give it another going over with chunkheads guide?

Gave it a chunkhead bath again

I put the battery in... then plugged in the charger. Again, lights flickered and it warmed up scalding hot

    BUT

The vibra motor kicked in, and there was crackling from the speaker.

Should I give it yet another bath?

It can't be dead, can it?

PS. CHUNKHEAD, Have you got MSN/AIM?

    Talking Try this out

Go to the nearest Drug store and buy yourself either some
    ISO PROPYL ALCOHOL or
ETHYL ALCOHOL both of these products are a drying agent.

Spread the alcohol over the motherboard and leave it for about ten minutes. Then use a hot air gun or station to blow dry all the components.
Be carefull not to blow any components off the board
The alcohol eats away corrosion and absorbs all the access water that is unseen and unreachable.
This should solve your problem ,unless youve damaged the phone already by all the putting on of the phone,
    Hope all go well
    Derick
