datacable problem

Hello,

I bought an F-BUS and M2BUS auto switch cable off ebay and it didn't work. I thought it must have been a bad cable. I had it replaced and the second one doesn't work either.
The guy that sold it to me is claiming that he never had a problem with any of them. Now I've removed the spring and the plastic tab, so that's not the problem. I got the LMlinktest.exe proggie to test the cable and only the mbus section passes, the fbus always fails. It's unlikely that 2 brand new sealed cables would have been bad so this leads me to believe that either I'm doing something wrong or the phone is toasted. I've only had the phone for about 3 weeks. Any suggestions or ideas, please......?

What sort of cable is it? Is it for only one model or a DCT-3 universal!?
