    WTF is with these programmes

    I am going nuts here I have tried to use variouse programes posted on here but to no avail..... on my main pc and on my lappy I am getting the same responce cannot innitialyse local mode, check cable and all that twaddle I have tried with 3 seperate sets of cables bought off the net for £12.95 each...

    I cant even read the phones

    give me a clue...which model of phone and which software have you tried. Also exactly what cable...serial, usb, mbus/fbus or flash ??

    what cable is that? and what software?

    Hello

    That looks like you used a FLASHING software and a DATA cable... which won't work.

    "Cannot initialise local mod" or "unable to prepare phone" are usual error messages in that case.

    If you use a flasher cable, and got windows XP, you need to install "userport" first, which you can find somewhere in the forums.......
