Occasional dropping of signal on my 8210

Most of the time I get a full signal but sometimes the signal drops completely and won't come back, this happens at random places as well. Should I try to flash the software or something? I'm currently running v5.31.

Also, could someone please outline the exact procedure (including which programs to get) on how to update my 8210 to an 8890?
