    8210 Data cable connection

Can anyone help, I have tried to connect my 8210 to B-Pheaks Epron tools using a data cable. I get a response of PHONE NOT CONNECTED, I have bought two cable from two different suppliers and have tried to connect to two different phones, but still get the same message. What am I doing wrong ?
I get the same response from Nokia Tools.
    Thanks for any help.

you have the phone turned on at the time right?
if you are using winxp or 2k you might also need userport, that might fix that problem. unless you have the F/MBus cable, which then you must make sure it's on MBus

    Cool try this

try to use it in logomanager first.if it work than i think there is no problem with your cable.
if not , check your com port ,see is it locked by other com port device driver.

try to clean the phone contacts with cotton swab moist with very little alcohol...insert firmly the datacable connector on the phone side until you hear a click...this always happens on 82xx datacables...

    Thanks for your advice Manipulator.
It does work with logomanager, but still can't get it to work with other prgrams. The com ports look OK, has anyone else got any more ideas.

try downloading the programs again or from another location?

try using the same cable with the same software on another computer to see if the outcome remains the same
