SIM not valid

I have a 3650 witch I used with T mobile in USA, now back home in Sri Lanka I want to use my phone with a local pre paid network.when I insert a sim card the message "SIM not valid" display. does that mean my phone needs unlocking? if so please send me my unlock code.

Take care if you fone aint tri band ( GSM 900/1800/1900)
it will not work in your home town (Sri Lanka )
check you fone Details or fone Manual !!
